Stormwater Program

CCCSD works with the Contra Costa Clean Water Program (CWP) to perform stormwater inspections in the ten incorporated cities of central Contra Costa County. The cities have authorized Source Control staff to conduct inspections of commercial/industrial businesses and to enforce stormwater management ordinances to prevent stormwater pollution. CCCSD inspectors combine these inspections with the sanitary sewer compliance inspections whenever possible to reduce the number of inspection visits required for a business. CCCSD considers the combined inspection programs to be efficient because improper discharges to the stormwater collection system can in some cases be corrected by redirecting the process discharge to the sanitary sewer system.
