CCCSD's Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility Does NOT Accept Medications

The Federal Drug Enforcement Agency prohibits household hazardous waste collection facilities from accepting any controlled substances.*  Because many prescription medications are classified as controlled substances but may not be labeled as such, we will no longer accept medications of any kind.

Disposal of Household Medications

• Please do not flush medications of any kind down the toilet or any other drain!
• Medications flushed down drains can pollute our waterways and the Bay! Bring them to one of our Pharmaceutical Disposal locations.

Note:  Businesses with medical waste should contact the Contra Costa County Department of Health Services (925-646-5225) for disposal options.
