Benchmarking Studies
As part of continuous improvement efforts, Central San conducts periodic benchmarking studies using data from American Water Works Association Utility Benchmarking program. In these studies, Central San compares its performance over three fiscal years against aggregate data from participating agencies. The study contains comparisons in about 40 performance indicators spanning different categories of utility management, including customer service and productivity. Central San also conducts an independent survey of California agencies to include a statewide data set to compare to the nationwide data in about a dozen key performance indicators. Central San’s FY 21-23 Benchmarking Study is in progress.
