Central San has modified our operations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and continues to monitor county, state, and federal guidelines. The health and safety of our employees, our customers, and our community remains our highest priority.
District Boundary/Divisions
Central San’s service area is made up of five different divisions, each represented by a member of the Board of Directors.
Who We Are
Central San is a special district of the State of California. Special Districts are local public agencies formed by residents of a community to provide specific services.

Most recently, Central San was awarded its 25th Platinum Peak Performance Award, honoring our more than two decades of full permit compliance.

Facilities
Central San’s facilities ensure the District’s mission to protect the public health and the environment is met 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year long.
Sewer System
Located in Walnut Creek at the junction of Highway 24 and Interstate 680, Collection System Operations’ role is to ensure that over 1,500 miles of underground sewers are able to collect and transport wastewater to the treatment plant safely and efficiently every day.
Public Notices and Public Review Documents
Public Notices are announcements of public hearings, the passage of new ordinances, amendments to the District Code, and invitations for sealed bids and proposals. Public Review Documents are generally regulatory, environmental or other reports that require an opportunity for public review and comment.

Financial Information
Central San operates under a fiscal year (FY) budget cycle beginning July 1 and ending June 30. Like many public agencies, Central San has two primary budgets: one for Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and another for Capital Improvements. The FY 2024-25 O&M Budget is $91 million, and the planned FY 2024-25 Capital Improvement expenditures are $80.7 million.
